Washington Jazz Arts Institute

The Washington Jazz Arts Institute (WJAI) is commemorating and celebrating our work at our 25th Anniversary Benefit Gala, Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Peoples Congregational Church in Washington, D.C. at 6pm. This year, we are proud to present some of our young participants in concert along with a line-up of stellar WJAI alumni musicians as special guests. It promises to be an evening to remember.  Purchase your tickets here! During the summer of each year, we operate a FREE four-week, daily program, where our young participants are afforded the opportunity of instruction, lecture, music theory and demonstration from our distinguished staff, as well as the opportunity to play with their peers and professionals in big-band and ensemble settings.  This program is offered to DC area youth at no cost.  Instruments are also provided to those in need. Proceeds from our annual Gala and donations collected throughout the year fund this program.
